A fade essentially denotes a transition in length and colour on the sides and back of the hair. This implies that there is some type of variation of different lengths in the hair and that it is not all buzzed to the same length.
How high on the head the shortest portion of the hair starts to transition into a longer length determines the level of the fade—taper, low, mid, or high.
A decent fade indicates that your barber has examined your hair and scalp for flaws and made the necessary corrections to form the fade in accordance with the contours of your hair and backbone. If Fade correctly, there won’t be any dark areas or obvious fade lines, and it will seamless, clean and natural.
